Straight off the train, straight up the steps leading up the Royal Mile stopping just a few steps up at the Halfway House for the first drink of many in Edinburgh over the next few days. A patriotic starter too, probably a rugby related blonde session brew without a huge amount of character to it.

Cask-conditioned at the Hengler's Circus (JDW), Glasgow May 2023. Golden in colour, with a slight, white, head. Some citrus hops, some tangerine and stone fruit character, light rich tea maltiness leading to a dryish finish. Good.

Caka at The Raven. It pours hazy golden - orange with a a well appointed thick white head. The aroma is soft, bready malt, stone fruits, peach, apricot, floral, orange blossom and some fluffy white bread. The taste is firm, dry, orange squash, floral, orange blossom, some bitterness, tannin, tangerine, touch of pucker, quite soapy and a touch pissy with a dry, almost puckering finish. Light body and moderate, fluffy carbonation. Hint of soapy sourness to this alludes to it not being in great condition. Some nice elements there, but sloppy.
