Pours black, small tanned head. Scent is roasty, full on chocolate, not smoked to me (though I feared it would be) Bit vanilla. Taste is strangely different - and not that possitive. A huge, overpowering blast of pure cloves hit me, and made the beer hard to consume. The beer itself is fairly dry, not nearly as pleasant as the scent. Vanilla gets lost. I was relieved not to get that much smoke, but the lack of balance here made it actually worse than I thought it would be as a smoked beer :/

Growler fill from the Low Cost Beer online shop. Pours black with a thin ring of brown head. Aromas of chocolate, coffee and vanilla. Taste is more of the same. Hint of leather. Bit too sweet on the finish.

Spotty beige head on dark brown body. Heavy malt, vanilla & boozy aroma. Medium bodied, smooth & soft with a tingle on the back. Syrup, vanilla, floral & Parma Violets tastes with sweet boozy finish. A bit unusual but tasty - not sure I'll manage the whole can!

440ml can. Pours black with a brown head. Aroma of chocolate, vanilla, maple, smoked meat. Taste of chocolate, vanilla, maple, but all are faded and weak now, overridden by an odd smokey meaty flavour, with a bittersweet finish. Bit weird.

(Draught at Muted Horn, Berlin, 31 July 2022) Black colour with brief, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with chocolate, vanilla and coffee. Malty, roasted taste with notes of sweet chocolate, coffee, oak wood, whisky, toffee, vanilla, marshmallows, treacle and a balanced cacao bitterness. Full body, quite sweet. On the sweet side, but tasty, rich and quite complex. Very nice.

Draft. A black beer with a thin dark brown head. The aroma has notes of dark chocolate, caramel, roasted malt, and hints of smoke. The flavor is sweet with notes of dark chocolate, smoke, roasted malt, and marshmallows, leading to a bitter finish.

Can sample at a tasting at Yoav's place. Black, tan foam. Vegetal coffee, kinda chili-like, roast, soy sauce, sweet and umami, smoke, some bitterness.

(Keg at Haze Wave 2022 Friday session) The beer poured oily and black. Its head was small and lightly brown. Aroma had burnt malts, dark chocolate, sweetness and ash. Palate was full bodied and warming with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, sweetness, ash, alcohols and bitterness. Aftertaste was burnt, boozy and bitter. A too boozy burnt brew.
