Can at home in Hackney - picked up from Cloudwater online. Pours clear deep brown with a creamy, khaki head. Light-medium sweet flavour with notes of mellow roast, milk chocolate, nips of dark fruits, low bitterness. Light bodied with average carbonation. Sweet finish, rounded dark malts, light earth, vanilla accents. Drinks fine.

Can. Pitch black colour with a beigeish brown foamy head, which leaves some lace. Aroma is chocolate, roast, vanilla and mild fudge to it. Flavour is fudge, some chocolate, mild toasted and roasted tones with some lactose and mild nutty elements too.

0,44l can at Dynamo. Black color, small coffee colored head. Smells cocoa, vanilla, earthy, nutty, spices. Nice to very nice smell. Medium body, soft carbonation. Tastes vanilla, earthy, cocoa, nutty, peppery. Finishes with a light medical vanilla bitterness and earthy and peppery notes. Nice one, a tad too vanilla forward, not sweet at all though.

Keg draught at Tønne, Leicester. Very dark brown bordering on black. Only slightly translucent with a small beige/khaki head. Chocolate fudge aroma, lighter subtones of liquorice, vanilla, stone fruit. Taste is sweet and fudgey and rounded. Some light chalky bitterness in the finish with black grape and treacle popping up in the aftertaste. Body is really thin and the carbonation is on the low side. Some beers grow on me, but this one I like a bit less as I go on. Still good though.

Pour at the Roost. Translucent brown, khaki head. Nose came across a little rubbery at first, then you get toast and cocoa, malt. Flavor straightens out and sweetens up, malt, some burnt toast, brownie batter. More toasted nuts than coffee. Medium bodied, chalky finish. Something just doesn't click.

Cask at The Ealing Beer Festival 2023, Ealing, London. A very dark brown/black coloured pour with a medium beige head on top. Sweet, malty, chocolate, caramel, vanilla taste and aroma. A really tasty stout.
