This is a light, bright and very satisfying beer. Lightly golden with a bubbly, medium white head that steadily shrinks to a thin foamy lace, the aroma is soft and sweet with grain and very flowery hops. The taste is full bodied grain with lots of green apple and light but persistent hints of pine and herbs, with a light bitterness that persists through to the finish. Eminently satisfying.

Bottle from Green's of Ellon. It pours crystal clear yellow - gold with a decent fluffy white head. The aroma is sweet doughy white bread, sponge cake, biscuit, custard creams, grass and grain. The taste is crisp, dry, bitter - sweet, grassy, straw, doughy white bread, sponge cake, biscuit, brioche, custard creams and grain with a touch of lemon curd in the finish. Average body and moderate carbonation. Simple and easy going. Pleasant chugging lager.

Bottle at home picked up from beerhunter. Thanks to Mum and Dad. A crystal clear gold coloured pour with a tidy white cap. Aroma is big lagery notes, apple, tangy crisp malts, little soapy, stewed hop, cereal. Flavour is composed of semi sweet cereals, straw, grassy hop, apple, stewed hop. Palate is semi sweet, highish carbonation, light tang, Fine. Trad stuff.

Bottle. Mitchell’s Wines Sheffield. Clear orange gold. Fine white head. Nose has malt and caramel. Mulch. Taste is pretty sweet, with low, grassy bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel. Not overly crisp. Moderate carbonation. Minimal bitterness to finish. Overall this feels sweet and a bit flabby.

Appearance: clearest gold with a decent white frothy head. Aroma: pure German malt, additional fruity hints Taste: light sweet, crisp and clean, malty. Fruity touches. Hop. The pleasant bitterness grows up towards the aftertaste. The former is good. Mouth feel: light to medium body, appropriate carbonation. Bottom line: good helles

Keg tap at the West End Brewery, Leicester. Light yellow/gold with a small white head and visible carbonation. Light aroma with sweet malt and tones of vanilla. Balanced taste, sweet but not too much so. Soft carbonation. Not a bad beer, but lacking in any forward personality.

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up from HOTM. Pours crystal clear yellow-gold with a creamy, white head. Lightly sweet with pleasant doughy biscuits, nips of straw, bread crust. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Tidy finish, mild sweetness, ample biscuity malts and simple bread. A nice easy-drinker.
