Marked batch 005 on the bottle label. Matured in a Glen Moray 1992 cask although this is not detailed on the label.
This edition sees our Imperial Stout aged for several months in specially selected Speyside malt whisky casks. This maturation process results in the whisky flavours and aromas being infused deep into our beer.

330 ml bottle sampled in 2009. Pitch black body with a small and fast disappearing beige head. Strong and pleasant aroma of peat, wood, dark malt, bitter coffee and whisky. Flavor is as aroma with nice warming alcohol. Fine body and amazing aftertaste. Strong but balanced, at least for sipping.

Dunkler Malzantrunk. Das Bier ist weniger intensiv, als man zunächst glaubt, das Malz breitet sich nur oberflächlich aus. Sehr semig, zum Ende trocken. Vorher deutlicher milder werdend, minimal Whiskeyaromen sowie trockene Töne. Dafür ansonsten recht mild, fast unscheinbar. Ein sehr zahmes Imperial Stout, das man so von der Brauerei gar nicht gewöhnt ist. /9/9/10/11/9

Bottle. A pitch black beer with a small tan head. Rather oily pour. Quite alcoholic nose with some vanilla, heavily roasted malts, coffee, molasses, a little smoke maybe, and caramel. Sure whisky-ish. Really warming in the mouth, full-bodied and a bit sticky. In a strange way, it also feels watery, or maybe boozy, even though it’s oily. There’s flavors of alcohol, roasted malts, dark sugars, molasses, some vanilla, coffee and a little smokey note. Lasting finish with alcohol, molasses, sweetness, wood and, of course, whisky. One might argue that it’s too dominated by whisky. If you want to drink a couple of it I agree, but as a night cap it works just fine. (090428)

Bottle courtesy of a BA friend, purchased from Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a brown color with a thin head. Decent retention and lacing. Aroma of roasted malts, toffee, raisin, wood, vanilla and light whisky. Taste is roasted malts, maple, wood, whisky, anise. A little harsh, but the alcohol melds well. Very nice.

Bottle. A ligter body and a creamy milk chocolate taste makes this into a very "porteresque stout". I usually don’t like whiskey beer, but this one was not as intense as one would think. Rather refreshing and drinkable, actually.

This is a very good beer, but I do wish I could taste the scotch a bit more. Thick and heavy palate and almost no carbonation. There is chocolate and some fruit, a little cardboard and oak, as well as an earthy character.

botlte 33cl from ølbutikken. pours pitch black with a very small large bubbles head that only covers half the surface. aroma of superbly balanced imp stout notes, mixed up with whisky. unfortunately aroma is a bit weak, but no doubt it is welll rounded and has many facets. some notes resemble barley wine. flavor is licorice, wood, whisky, charchoal, roasted stuff, brown sugar, roasted malts. flavor is well rounded and very very delicious. great balancing act. mouthfeel is thick and nice, and overall it is a very enjoyable beer. good craftwork. i wish there was more aroma, aroma keeps it from going up into 4.
