Marked batch 005 on the bottle label. Matured in a Glen Moray 1992 cask although this is not detailed on the label.
This edition sees our Imperial Stout aged for several months in specially selected Speyside malt whisky casks. This maturation process results in the whisky flavours and aromas being infused deep into our beer.

Bottle 33cl @ home.Clear dark black color with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, burnt, caramel - licorice, smoke notes, peat - oak notes, ammonia licorice. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. (090708)

Bottle. Rich brown beer with a light tan head. Vanilla and malt aroma. Malt flavor with brown sugar, vanilla, and light whiskey. Medium body. Malt, brown sugar, and vanilla linger with very light bitterness. Nice balance.

Bottle. Creamy lightbrown excellent mostly lasting head. Black colour. Moderate malty and hoppy aroma. Honey and vanilla notes. Strong chocolate bitter flavor. Loads of vanilla. Heavy bitter long finish. Creamy palate. Great stuff.

330 ml bottle brought over by my Aberdeen friend, Bjorn! Dark brown with a small cinnamon tan head; nose of chocolate and oak; flavor of vanilla, chocolate, and some whiskey flavor! Way far the 3 or the 005, 008, and 009 we tried!

Black with a slight red highlight. The tiniest tan head. Aroma is dark fried fruit, toffee, chocolate, and a little smoke. Sweetish and hard roasted flavour, only a little spicy, alcoholic whisky character, and a touch of tannin in the finish. Clearly they have missed the carbonation on this one, which is a shame, because itβs got some good, promising beer character.

[i] [b] Tasted blind along with three other Paradox Imperial Stouts on an Imp Stouty Tasting evening with Case, Traci and Loz 14-03-08, [/i] [/b] Poured very dark brown with just a small amount of beige bubbles. Some soft chewy liquorice and there is the feeling that you can taste the base product so much more in this paradox that the other three that we tried. This tastes just that bit sweeter and there is more creamy vanilla and oakiness in this beer, much sofetr tasting than the other three, and probably my joint favourite along with the Ardberg version.
