330 ml bottle, as Drum Brew The Gathering Stout, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 7.5%. Black colour, moderate to small tan head. Aroma of roast malts, caramel, mild coffee, chocolate, liquorice and fennel. Medium sweet flavour, with the same elements. Moderate hops.

0,33 flaske fra Helsedirektoratets postordrekatalog, hjemme en fredagskveld: brunsvart med lysebrunt cremeskum som slår følge helt ned. Raffinert duft og silkemyk smak med mørke malter, lekker nybrent kaffe pluss et hint av lakris, moccabønner og røyk. Mild bitterhet i den ganske så saftige avslutningen. Den andre flasken er plassert i hylla for langtidslagring som en utfordring for selvkontrollen. Mouthwatering and so smooth.

YG 310323. Black color with a beige head. Aroma is roasted malt, roasted malt, pine, grapefruit, coffee. Flavor is roasted malt, pine, grapefruit, coffee, licorice , caramel, chocolate, spices. Nice beer.

Bottle. A dark, dark brown beer, quite clear looking, with a small dense dark beige head. The aroma is quite burnt, with roasted malts, licorice hints, some caramel and a decent dash of coffee. Sort of piney, resiny hoppyness too. It's full-bodied and pleasantly carbonated, quite dry, with a touch of acidity. Roasted malts and a touch of burnt malts. Coffee, dark chocolate, some dark dried fruit, hints of spices and licorice and some alcohol in the flavor. Lasting finish with a bit more sweetness than felt initially. Sort of beefstock-like too. Quite nice this one, although a bit more burnt than I prefer. 230331

Bottle. More than less a clear, black body under a nice, two finger thick beige head. Strong aroma of dark, roasted malt, chocolate, coffee with a spicy touch. Taste is sweet, smooth, gentle roasted dark malt, bitter coffee, hint of dark chocolate, some resin and balanced bitterness. Fine body with long lasting aftertaste. A nice coffee stout which does not exaggerate the coffee flavor but mange to bring out the coffee quality in a good way. Strong and bold, but still smooth and nice.

Tap at Axiom. Med-full body, medium carbonation. Fully malty, with moderate deep roast, medium toffee and chocolate. Also medium honey feeling. Light warmth, but rounded, not intrusive. Med-high sweetness initially up top, eventually balanced by roast bitterness mounting towards a med-high intensity in a long coffee-ashy finish. Actually a very good classic export strength stout.
