From stumpf or Heinrich 3000 Getränk shop. Drinking it one day ago, after a nice afternoon at Servion, at home relax. A classical from the heart of Germany. Classical German doppel bock, a bit smoked, really malty, smooth, good toffee note, a bit metalic, 22.08.2024, at Epalinges.

Bottle. Amber, cream lasts OK. Indistinct sweet malty aroma. Some toast. But not as sweet in taste and seems cleaner with bread, booze and light spices. Moderate but distinct bitterness.

June 2017: Shared 500 ml bottle, from Alko Karigasniemi. Colour like rosé wine, white head. Aroma of malts, caramel, some fruit / berries and alcohol. Smooth flavour, berry notes, some alcohol, decent bittering hops. Warming throatfeel. Might well buy again.

Clear amber with a bubbly white head and sweet fruit malt on the nose. It’s sweet, fruity and malty with a boozy kick and a dry finish

500ml bottle. Clear, redd-ish, bright amber colour with average to huge, frothy, osteoporosing, minimally lacing, sulphureous to pale beige head. Mellow malty aroma, hints of caramel, a touch of malt lozenge and rock sugar. Taste is slightly toasty and mellow malty, hints of caramel, malt lozenge, a touch of rock sugar, weak, bitter hoppy counterpart. Watery texture, smooth, minimally greasy palate, medium, mildly prickly carbonation. Very nice colour, well controlled sweetness, despite the various malt flavours rather simple and cautious overall - acceptable.

Dark copper with a creamy, off-white head. Aroma vaguely of caramel and raisins, but with a metallic overtone. Taste is grainy bitter the whole way through with a dose of harsh, undisguised alcohol at the finish that ruins whatever hope this one may have had. Medium-bodied, moderate to mild carbonation. Rough. Not much fun.
