Bottle, Carringtons, Chorlton. Dark copper pour with minimal head. Aroma wasn’t offering much to tantalise the senses, think I detected vague notes of malt, stale cabbage and pipe tobacco in there. Flavour wasn’t offering much either, maybe a hint of blackberry amongst the predominant malts, but a drab, lifeless and essentially crap beer.

Bottle: Poured a clear light copper color ale with a medium foamy head with average retention and not much lacing. Aroma of light sugar notes with bland malt notes as well. Taste is also quite bland with some notes of light sugar. Body is a bit light with OK carbonation. Boring and bland and not something I would seek again.

Bottle from Bottle Barn in Santa Rosa, CA. Depending on the light and angle it pours amber or ruddy copper. There’s a foamy clingy 3 finger beige head. Light toffee malt aroma. Medium minus body with mild carbonation. Flavor is malt with a peppery aspect. All very pleasant and mild. The finish has a certain tea flavor aspect. It’s not spectacular, but I’d not kill myself if this were the only beer in the world.

Might be my first New Zealand beer ever. Bottle at RFD. Aroma is fairly standard, some sweetness, some grass. Flavor was a little metallic, some biscuit, some orange. Watery finish. What can you say? Not great but not everything can be.
