Our original brewery in Toronto’s historic Distillery District, known as “Tankhouse #3” was built in 1879 as a storage building for bulk spirits waiting to be filled into barrels. It was in this building in 2003 that our Tankhouse Ale was born. Now made with all organic ingredients, we use an abundance of organic hops and five different organic malts to produce a rich, fiery pale ale, copper-red in colour, and truly satisfying in flavour.

Enjoyed at some random bar after a long night of drinking with friends in Toronto, ON. I didn’t take tasting notes for this one, but remember this being ok. More malty than hoppy, kind of reminded me of Fat Tire.

Bought randomly at the national Arts Centre in Ottawa.... hey, isn’t it odd that people can flock here from regions round while most of Canada may never have heard of the place? Nonetheless it was in a bottle with okay head and aroma....it’s a decent mix of barley and hops, drank from the bottle waiting for my show’s doors to open. Are these people seriously for real? The frizzy hair, the central-Canadian couteur, as someone not from this region it’s just surprising that people actually live this way. But nonetheless.... Bonny and Clyde would be proud. This is a decent brew to drink while waiting for one’s theatre to open. Or, perhaps, to imbibe whole the Algonquin river flows in the summer solstice night.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Ariel’s place. Thanks Rotem. Clear bright reddish amber with an off-white head. Aroma of stale hops and some malt. Flavor has a bit of caramelly and biscuity malt, a bit of hops and a moderately bitter finish. Medium-bodied. Decent.

Bottle at the Rose & Crown, Banff. It pours clear amber, with a thin-medium off-white head. The nose is brown bread, toast, earth and light spice. The taste is caramel, toast, wood, leaf, strong malt backbone, leather and light spice, with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Not bad….

Few ounce sample from bottle, pours a golden orange with a small white head. Aroma and flavour of floral hops, citrus and hay - the floral hops are the most prominent flavour. Fairly standard but solid.

a nice taste of hops. a great beer to carry through a couple of pitchers. aftertaste is decently bitter. on tap at the imperial pub in toronto. New rating: This taste like palatable rust. A vague hint of hop. Pours orange without much head. Slight bitter finish with some sour tang. There are many better things out there in the world of APAs. Tap at the airport brewpub.

Bouteille 341ml.

Pours a copper-orange color with a medium creamy off-white head that burns away steadily. Patchwork lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrusy hops and malt. Medium body with flavors of piney hops, malt and citrus. The finish is bready malt up front with a short citrusy hops aftertaste. Decent overall.
