Backlog March 2008. Bottle. Black body with a slight reddish tint under a big, creamy beige head. Strong and pleasant aroma of dark malt, licorices, mocha and roasted coffee. Taste is in the same direction with dark, roasted malt, a faint hint of smoke, fark chocolate, licorices and nice hoppy bitterness. Fine balanced body with long lasting, pleasant aftertaste. A really nice one.

Backlog. Flaska från SB(?). Bäst före 2018, batch 1. Rökigt, välrostat, mjuk och fin, mycket toffee. Börjar väl passera sin peak, men håller än.

Bottle from Maria, thanks! Almost pitch black and opague. Roastaroma with just a bit of smoke and caramel. Roasty, smoky, caramelly flavor with licorice and coffee. Almost full bodied, although the mouthfeel is also a bit watery. Ash in the aftertaste. Loads of flavor, certainly a beer of good quality, but just not my favorite stout.

Sample@Ølfestival, København 2019 Day 2 (24/05/2019) - black with a biege head. Roasted and sweet dark malty, with coffee roast, cocoa, brown sugar, medium body, dark malty finish.

From old notes. From tap at Copenhagen Olfestival 2012. Black color with brown head. Roasted malty aroma, chocolate and coffee, smoked notes. Sweet and bitter taste like aroma. Medium oily body with soft carbonation.

Svart farge med høyt brunt skum. Lukter kaffe og sjokolade. Mest kaffepreg. Meget fyldig med ganske kraftig kaffesmak. Meget god!

Bottle from trade with fonefan, many thanks! Trübes fast schwarzes Bier mit einer schönen bräunlichen Schaumkrone. Geruch sehr röstmalzig, viele winterliche Gewürze, Spekulatius. Geschmack nach Kaffee, Gewürzen, viel Röstmalz, etwas Zimt und andere Backgewürze.

Excellent beer. Roasty, black chocolate, great balance. Bitter finish. Very creamy black pour with mocha head and lacing. Creamy texture with a little oil but pulls off thick without being syrupy. Tap at Pizzeria Paradiso Georgetown.

Opaque black with thick, tan head. Aroma has raw, bitter licorice and coffee. Flavour has more coffee, a lot of hop bitterness well balanced with alcohol and semi-sticky sweetness. Finish is slightly rough. All in all a very nice beer.
