Bottle bought at Vinmopolet in Trondheim, June 2014. Clear dark brown with a medium firm head. Aroma and taste of malt, some chocolate, light nuts and caramel. Medium body and with a soft carbonation. A descent one.

Batch 500, oktober 2014. Dup brun klar med to fingre høyt lys brunt skum. Lukter som svensk julmüst. Kaffe, nellik, lett appelsin og karamell. Søtlig noe brent karamell, men nokså skarp nellik og pepperig smak. Middels fylde og varighet.

Bottle at home. Pours dark brown, almost black with tanned head (we had two bottles - one almost no head, one with over-carbonation). Aroma of coffee, dark chocolate, some spices, and alcohol. Notes of American hops. Taste sweet, with some roasted bitterness; vanilla, caramel. Very good and tasty beer. Rerated 2016-12-02: Aroma of phenols, esters and yeast. Tastes like bad homebrew, very different from earlier tastings. Re-rated 2017-12-24: Bottle at home. Pours hazy copper with dense off-white head that lasts long. Aroma of caramel, dark chocolate, dark dried fruits. Tastes slightly sweet with more than balancing bitterness. A good Christmas beer that fits well with Norwegian Christmas dishes.

Fra flaske på Cardinal, DSJT nov-14: flott skum. Litt ute avv balanse for min del, synes den har for mye krydder til såpass slank kropp. Må prøves for seg selv e\ved første anledning.

Nice creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly roasted, dark malts, grass, wet grain, coffee, puffed rice, something plastic like. Taste is kind of burnt and a little watery, burnt grain, burnt caramel, grass, coffee, ashtray, cocoa, hay. Longlasting kind of harsh bitterness, thin body. Fair enough, but used to be a lot better the first two or three years (before the infection problems started).

Mørk brun farge med beige skum som raskt avtar. Lukter av moden frukt, kaffe og røk. Smaken skuffer noe da jeg synes den blir noe tam og for lite karbonert. bitter i ettersmak.

Black with a light brown head - Malty aroma with some roasted malt and some coffee notes as well - Good smooth malt body with some roasted amlt and some coffee - Malt lingering for a long time with some coffee notes - This was very good
