Für unser Aecht Schlenkerla Weichsel Rotbier trocknen wir das Malz über einem Feuer mit hochwertigem Kirschholz und nicht wie beim klassischen Rauchbier über Buchenholzfeuer. Im Gegensatz zum würzigen Buchenrauchmalz hat das Kirschrauchmalz ein fruchtiges, fast süßliches Raucharoma und sorgt für eine kupferrote Farbe im Glas. Feinster Aromahopfen ergänzt den vielschichtigen Rauchgeschmack um eine beerige Note. Mit 4,6% Alkohol ist Aecht Schlenkerla Weichsel ein vollmundiges, angenehm süffiges Bier.

Bottle at Proeflokaal 't Kelkje, Amsterdam. Nicely woody with a hint of cherry, malt, smoke (but fairly subtle by Schlenkerla standarts), some caramel. Moderate sweet, light to mild bitter. Good stuff as always.

Clear copper-red in color with a three-finger head. Aroma is very strong smoke. Taste is also strong smoke flavor with tasty malts.

Bottle: Poured a copper color lager with a large slightly off-white foamy head with good retention and some good lacing. Aroma of smoked malt with some light biscuit notes. Taste is also dominated by smoked malt with some light biscuit notes and light faint residual sugar notes. Body is about average with light fatty texture with good carbonation. Enjoyable but I prefer the original smoked wood taste.

YG 231224. Pale amber color with a beige head. Aroma is smoked, red berries, bread, dried fruit. Flavor is smoked, red berries, dried fruit, grass, toffee. Nice beer.

Poured from 500mL bottle. Clear amber brown with minimal white head. Nice smokey aroma, taste has a very feint metallic note in the background, mild caramel, cherry wood underlay, lighter bodied. Okay. Prefer other Schlenkerla offerings.

Bottle 0,5 ltr: Clear amber coloured brew with an slightly sweet bitter taste with hints of caramel, lightly roasted malts and smoked ham.
Dark amber with a lasting white head. Malty aroma with a touch of smoke. Malty flavour with soft and subdued smoke.
