Superking is a Helles lager, brewed with beech smoked malt. A crisp, sweet body with a delicately rich woodsmoke character and delicious citrus hoppy finish.

A refreshing beer for the colder months and beyond.

Can from Against The Grain. Appearance - golden and clear, lacy white head. Nose - roasted pale malt, underlying smoky malt for sure. Taste - big smoked barley going into ham, lovely dry smoky backdrop. Palate - medium bodied, dry elegant, but persistent middle and finish. Overall - this is an excellent example of the style.

Can from Cork and Cask. Pours clear pale yellow gold with a thin white head. Aromas of smoke and lemon, some bready malt. Taste is smokier though, nice wood smoke vibe. Clean lager finish. Light bitterness. Good stuff.

Can at home in Hackney - sourced from HOTM. Pours clear honey-gold, lightly effervescent, with a soft, foamy white topping. Moderately sweet, nice biscuity malts, restrained smoke, pale bread. Medium bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Lightly drying finish, more pale biscuits and pleasant smokey notes. Solid all around.

Can from HoTM. It pours clear bright gold with a thick, fluffy white head. The aroma is soft, sweet, doughy white bread and rich tea biscuit, lovely smooth smoke, toasty wood embers, bonfire, smoked cheese and russian campfire tea. The taste is smooth initially, laid back sweetness, doughy white bread, custard cream biscuits, some cereal, toasty grain, smooth satisfying smoke that doesn't overwhelm, smoked tea, campfire vibes, grass and something just vaguely medicinal. Finish is quite crisp and dry. Medium body and moderate, fluffy carbonation. Lovely balance to this. Moreish and quenching. They have done really well with this one.

Dark yellow colour with light haze. Really intense BBQ bacon smoky notes. Plenty of malt sweetness in the finish too.
