Sweet malty with some caramel sweetness, layers of dark dried fruit and spice, medium body, cognac soaked wooden oak notes accompanying the warming spiced malty finish. This will age well IοΏ½m sure.

Bottle from Hopt. Aroma is sweet caramel malt with cognac, toffee, nuts, notes of fudge, dried fruits, raisins, nougat, candy sugar. Flavour is rather sweet with a sugary and sticky character. Body is medium to full. Sweet, but pretty delightful.

Draught@HBF2017. Amber colour, small off-white head. Aroma is raisins, alcohol, some toffee, mild spices, and wood. Flavour is fruity, floral, zesty, some spicy notes, mild toffee as well as some alcohol and ripe fruits. A bit fresh still, which makes the booziness kick a bit extra. Would be nice to try in 1-2 years again.

Poured from 330mL bottle (2019 vintage; bb 03/04/2024; batch 337). Dark copper brown with minimal beige head. Lots of woody cognac, dark dried fruit, touch of booze. Quite nice.

Draught @ Billie's Craft Beer Festival 2021. A bit thin bodied and slightly oxidized, ripe fruity and caramely syrupy
Earlier Rating: 4/8/2017 Total Score: 3.6
Draught @ HBF 2017. Pours dark brown with a small head. Aroma of berries, oak, wood, cognac, hints of caramely malts, toffee, syrup and earthiness. Taste is smooth, slightly roasty and earthy with some hints of hops, berries, oak, wood, vanilla and toffee. Finish is sweet, slightly boozy and earthy with some ripe fruits, raisins, stingy woody notes, oak, cognac and toffee, hints of berries and vanilla. Heavy and sweet, slightly boozy, might benefit from some more aging.
