Bottled @RBESG’05
Almost opaque dark brown, not much head. Roasted smokey cold coffee nose, maybe hints of diacetyl. Watery expresso flavor. Short aftertaste.

(Bottle 33 cl) Smoked beers used to be rather common in Denmark but are now extremely rare. This is one of very few remaining. Pitch black colour, almost opaque. Almost flat - the CO2 has gone walkabout or was (more likely) never there. Very, very smoky flavours. A taste of tar and wood and ropes... 090200

Bottle, 2.4%. Smoky aroma. Black colour, small brown head. The flavour is also smoky, has a little barley bitterness. Tar flavour with some smoke. The mouthfeel is a little thin, but that is to be expected from the ABV.

Jet black, but seems clear as Coca-Cola; head is also as the cola-head: dark and short-lived. Tarrish nose - as in Lapsan Souchong tea, and smoked (Lapsan Oolong?). Thin mouthfeel is the first to strike whilst drinking, but then the smoked and indeed Chinese tea-like perfumes come in. First impression is tar-like, finish more like cigar ashes. Thin, but quite refreshing, even with the tar characteristics. Is this refermented in tarred pipes, as the Pilsner Urquell of bygone days? But here the layer is dissolved. laughing apart, I wish our tafelbierproducers ever produced anything similar. I'm impressed.

The aroma powerful and of tar and smoke. THe color is black and it has an OK light brown head, though fast disappearing. Sourness hits You at first when You start drinking it together with some sweetness, but then it turns smoked and woody dry. It ends dry on the tongue with a slight bitterness. Nice for a different type og beer, but I'd like it more smoked.

Brown color. Very nice aroma of roasted malt, sweetish, with some smokey notes. Light body texture, but nice smokey note. Ordinary palate, just enough bitter. Jacob, definitively this must be the most enjoyable alcohol-free beer!

Black. Light bodied, and smokey in the same way as a Rauchbier. Have they dried the malt over beechwood? By far my favourite alcohol free beer. I wish they could make a moire fullbodied version of it too.

Totally black and with an extreme tar and smoke flavor. The most interresting alcohol free beer if you ask me :-)

Very smokey. Almost burnt, and notably dry. Straightforward but assertive character. Totally unique. Lack of fermentation hurts this beer in terms of body and complexity, but that is part of the style.
