The Meerts Tilquin series was made by fermenting fruit that had already been used once. Roussanne grapes were fermented for a period of 4 months in a blend of 80% 1 year old Meerts and 20% of a blend of different 2 year old lambics. Meerts (or March Beer) is a low strength lambic, which was originally produced with the weaker wort obtained from the rinsing of the grains. Unfiltered and unpasteurized, they are refermented in the bottle.

Just fantastic "table" lambic, incredible base funk and grape funk. Just incredible flavor for what it is.

Bottle. Gold, a white head fizzes away as it pours. Old citrus aroma - orange as well as lemon - with woody funk, hints of grapes. Sour with mellow and sharp citrus, oak, grapey, musty funk - but overall very sunny and refreshing.

Poured from 375mL bottle (bb 19/05/2027; 2021-2022 vintage). Clear blond gold with almost no white head. A bit tart and acidic, as per Tilquin, with mild white grape skin. Quite flat carbonation. Okay.

Bottle, 375ml corked. It pours a hazy orange-golden colored body under a small white head. Funky aroma with barnyard, leather, lemon and a touch of popcorn in the aroma. Some pale malts. Sort of vinous. It's medium to full bodied and nicely carbonated, dry and tart. Funky flavor too, vinous, with leather, barnyard, lemon, horseblanket and green grapes. Medium length finish. Really pleasant and refreshing this one. 241231

375 ml bottle. Pours a gold color with short head. Aromas of farmyard, grapes, grass, citrus and dry wheaty malts. Flavors of Reisling, citrus and more sharp dry wheaty malts. Subtle for the series but refreshing and very good
