Sample (thanks omhper!). Reddish amber colour, small off-white head. Aroma is acidic fruits with some wood and mild sherry tones. Flavour is fruity, some tart wood, mild acidic tones with a nice sweet wooden touch to it. Nice aging, very smooth to drink,. even though very intense.

Small off-white head ove deep red, almost clear beer. Acids, vinegar, lactic acid, balsamico. Red fruit, fermented banana, dried banana. Sharp acidic, typical Rodenbach yeast features, with lactic acid. Faint brown candi sugar. Not much acidburn, quite mild in the end. Medium carbonation, bit slick. Of course it's quite good. But somehow, given its specs, I would have expected more. Most Vintages are better.

--Bottled, from Systembolaget. -- Clear bvrownish burgundy colour, small head. Tart oaky aroma with green apples and sour cherries. Vinegar and leather, apples and oak. Low bitterness in a finish with some grape skin. Complex and intense.

28/9/2023. Bottle shared by Colin, cheers. Pours very dark red brown with a small bubbly off-white head. Aroma is fruity, woody, leathery, cherry, berries, touch of caramel. Medium sweetness, moderate tangy tartness. Medium body, smooth, soft carbonation. Enjoyed this.

Bottle. Color: Bit hazy dark reddish brown, beige head. Aroma: Caramel, red fruit, tart. Taste: Very nice and smooth, complex mix of tart and sweetish notes. Oak wood, vanilla. Forest fruit, caramel notes. Vinuous. Below average carbonation, medium body. It was quite a long time ago I had my last Rodenbach Grand Cru. Too much choice nowadays. But I'm glad to drink ths Evolved version right now,really enjoying it. Rated this one somewhat lower than the original but that's because of the development of my rating over the yeast, I don't think I would rate the Grand Cru 4,6 again nowadays. I sincerely think Rodenbach makes the best Sour Flemish Ales at this time.¹

759ml bottle from Raynville Superstore. It pours clear deep ruby/cherry red with with a thick, fluffy beige head. The aroma is sweet - sour, vinous, juicy, jammy, ripe cherry, jammy, strawberry, fizzy candy, tangfastics, fizzy cherry cola bottles, oak and vinous. The taste is crisp, dry, zingy, tangy, sweet - sour, puckering, juicy, crunchy cherry, strawberry, touch of acidity, vinous, fizzy cherry cola bottles, tangfastics, strawberry with balsamic vinegar, granny smith apple lactic, oak and hint of tannin with a drying, crunchy cherry finish. Medium body and moderate, well appointed carbonation. Lovely fruit character and balance.

Bottle split at the 2nd CBJ tasting, thanks to Danny 31/08/23. Clear reddish amber with a decent lasting light beige head. Nose is bitter sweet fruit esters, damp oak, funk, barnyard, hint of dry rot. Taste comprises red berry fruit must, straw, modest funk, vinous, farmyard nip, light acidic spike. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a light puckering shmack. Not bad ... easy drinking for the style.

Bottle shared in London - cheers to Dan. Pours clear honey-red with a creamy off-white head. Medium sweet flavour with relaxed acidity, a little funk, berries, light meat, background vinegar. Medium bodied with massaging carbonation. Subtle tartness to finish, more berries, a little lemony tartness. Tasty.
