Bottle from Raynville Superstore. It pours clear golden - amber with a medium fluffy white head. The aroma is toasty grains, woody, toasted nut, warming spice, ginger, oatcakes and ryvita. The taste is dry, touch of bitterness, bitter - sweet character, snappy, toasty spice, nutty, honeyed cereal, grassy, slightly herbal, mint and wood with a drying, spicy finish. Average body and moderate, fluffy carbonation. A bit chewy and toothy. Fair.

Altöttinger Dult-Märzen, Bügelverschlußflasche von Getränke Winkler, AÖ. - Goldbraun, klar. Small off-white head over crystal clear, finely carbonated deeper golden beer. Slight oxydation, old bread, nutty, biscuit, and a whiff of sherry-like, if sweetish aroma. Sweet, again some oxydation, lightly coloured malts, sweet bread, yellow dune flowers, sweet woodruff. Light body, low carbonation enhancing the slickness. OK, classical sweet Märzen. Txs to Stef!

Milder süß-herber Beginn. Helles Malz, trockener Hintergrund, Noten von Karamell. Feinherb, konstant ansteigende Aromatik, mittellanger Abgang. Nett aber schnell vergessen. 7/10/9/8/8/9

Swing top bottle. Golden color, no head, a slight haziness. Flowers and rancid butter in the aroma. Malty sweet flavor with butter and flowery hops. Diacetyl ruins the aroma, but not the flavor, which is quite pleasant.

500 ml bottle. Clear golden, small head. Grain, metal, citrus. Metallic bitterness, some malty sweetness. Well carbonated, medium bodied, unpleasant finish, very watery texture. Overall a bland and boring Märzen.

Clear pale golden colour, two finger frothy white head, mostly diminishing. Aroma malt, caramel, grain, light brown sugar. Taste medium sweet and bitter, malty, light caramel. Aftertaste sweetbitter, fruity touch, medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, acceptable märzen.

Pours pale gold with a thin but frothy head. Aroma is not strong and tough to place, but paper is not far off. Initially mildly sweet, with very little complexity. Well carbonated. An unpleasant, salty taste arises which drives this one firmly in the wrong direction. Mildly bitter finish. Kept looking at the bottle waiting for it to end. A bad Märzen.
