Very dark brown with thin head. Aroma has dark brown toasted bread. Tastes really grainy and full. Notes of dark chocolate also smokey, earthy peat. Growing burnt bitterness in the finish.

Tap at Salon piva. Very full body, med-high catbonation. Very high roasty bitterness, high warmth (which is a bit too sharp for my liking), med-high sweetness. Also med-light astringency. Very intense, but the balance just is not the greatest. Lots of deep roast, coffee, astringent. Rather low chocolatey goodness. Intense barrel character, but feels rather boozy, with all of the complexity getting a bit lost together. Only light peated smoke stands out and woody notes. Overall - very intense, but not very delicious. Not bad, not great.

Poured from 500mL can (bb 17.04.2027). Near black with small beige head. Mild chocolate, iodine, light peat smoke, quite feint sweet sherry notes. Decent, but have had better renditions of smoked peat beers.

500mL can, pours jet black with a small light brown head. Aroma is full of peated whiskey barrels, gentle smoke, and medium roast. Flavour is monolithic in its peated whiskey, with lots of iodine, creosote, ash, and intense smoke. Lots of peat, oiliness, iodine, alcohol, and intense smoke. It's not exactly refined, but the flavours are very nice. Very good.

Can. Color: Black, brown head. Aroma: Roasted malt, notes of coffee, subtle Bourbon and fruity notes. Taste: Roasted malt, coffee and licorice notes, sweetish and boozy notes of Bourbon, fruity notes of Sherry (dried grape) and subtle notes of peat. Very smooth and oily mouthfeel. Full body, low carbonation. Over moderate sweet, moderate bitterness going to over moderate at finish. Long lasting dry-ish and sweetish finish. Very nice, nice complexity and well balanced.

Well, fucking hell, was saving a can (from Base Camp) for the others, but it decided, despite being in shade, to burst randomly somewhere and pour out 2dl all over its surroundings. Damn that puddle smelled nice... Pitch black body, big brownish-grey head, went away relatively fast, so not a straight 5. Chocolate, caramel, clear whiskey barrel notes... and so it does in the glass, mind you. Creamy, lean body, ending bitterish, caramel, light chocolate, extremely well integrated peat. I mean, wow. Mild alcohol burn. Actually, the only thing I mind at moments, is the bitterness, though it has its place there. The warming touch isn't perfect in this weather, but that's hardly the beer's fault innit? That silky, silky body though, wow! Excellent, not cloying at all, extremely drinkable for the ABV, nuances, bare nuances keeping it from extreme greatness. but it's still a fantastic beer.
