Bottle shared in London - thanks to Kenwise. Pours deep brown with a creamy, tan head. Tangy dark malts in the nose, dried berries, cocoa, ash. Medium sweet flavour with strong alcohol, bitter ashy roast, baking cocoa, woody dryness. Medium to full bodied with average carbonation. Warming finish with more ash roast, bittersweet baking cocoa, leathery berries, woody dryness. Heavy-hitting gear.

Bottle. A more or less black one, topped by a dense, finger-thick tan head Rather oily pour. The aroma has a lot of licorice, with roasted malts and dark chocolate, some toffee and a peaty hint.. It’s rather sweet on the palate, with a smooth carbonation. Full body. Roasted malts, licorice and hints of peat in the flavor, sweet and chocolatey. The alcohol warmth is present, but not in annoying way at all. Lasting roasted, sweet and licorice-ish finish. Quite nice this one, tasteful and almost easy drinkable, although it’s a tad sweet. 160312
