440ml cab from Lidl I presume and enjoyed on my sofa in Kuala Lumpur. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a mostly lasting frothy off-white head. The aroma is dark malts and piney hops. The flavour is moderate bitter, with a crisp, malt, piney, mineral, earthy, light citrus, woody hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Not bad at all.

I am having a mini-tasting with myself today, 17th March 2023. The wife is out with old school friends, so Bertie and I are home alone until they all turn up later to use our bar. Finding some 'old stock' but enjoying my session, this 440ml can from a local Lidl has a BBD of 23rd September 2023 and will be the 6th beer of the tasting. Poured into a very old (and sadly fading design artwork) Schultheiss half-litre glass (brought back from Berlin in 1990). Locks black bodied, until you look closer, it's more rusty copper (no, not green), tanned head. Nice easy going piney hop front, mild dark maltiness that allows the hops to promote themselves, this is one of the better Black IPA's I've come across so far, even if there are some citrus hints within the nose and taste.

Black beer, thick foamy head. Aroma has toasty malt and zesty hop. Taste has the toasty malt and zesty hop, grapefruit, chocolate, some fresh pine. Nice airy, piney finish. Very decent, with a lovely balance for the style and very drinkable.

Can rom Lidl Supermarket, Todmorden. Hazy brown with a small head. It never gets stated in any aspect so there's not a lot of flavour, but the fusion of hops and dark malts seems to work well here, and has an underlying sweetness.

440ml can from Lidl - Deep black body, no head. Floral nose, piney, spruce. Taste is roasty, some stouty notes, citrus bite. Decent enough.

Cam from Lidl Inverurie. It pours darkest brown to black with a small khaki hear. The aroma is fresh, fragrant, floral, Parma violets, tangy citrus vibe, juicy tropical fruits, mango, peach, roasty malt and a touch of liquorice. The taste is rich roasted malt, charred pine, bitter - sweet, toasty, snap of spice, tangy citrus, orangey, grapefruit, hint of liquorice, umami, some tropical fruit vibes, peach and mango with a dry, toasted pine finish. Moderate carbonation and average carbonation. Flavourful and plenty to it. I really liked it (unlike many others).

Can from Lidl. Pours deep brown towards black with a tan cap. Aroma: roast malts, light pine. Taste: light to medium sweet & bitter, rost, light pine, liquorice hints. Medium body with soft carbonation, Bit too roast dominant for a BIPA, for me.

440ml can from Lidl. dark brown in colour, with a creamy, beige, head. Aroma of leafy hops, coffee and orange peel. Flavour had some lightly toasted malts, pine freshness, more citrus and some juicy liquorice, before a rather gentle finish. Hard tom place style-wise, but a pleasant drink nonetheless.
