What if you combine the most famous Dutch canteen snack, the pink cake, with apple and a full Barley Wine? After a visit to the famous Glacé factory, they returned with a lot of inspiration. The result is a full-bodied Barley Wine with notes of cake, ripe fruits and a light apple touch. Of course, the well-known pink color is also present in the beer.

Bottle, 10.5%. Soapy and very malty aroma. Smells like dark caramel and citric soap water. Hazy dark brown colour with a red note. It gets less brown and more red the closer I get to the bottom of the bottle. Small frothy whitish head. The flavour is peppery at first, followed by soap, cinnamon, and vanilla. Aromatic and pungent but not sweet. Thick, oily, syrupy mouthfeel. Late and long bitterness.

Aus der Flasche (bottled 31.07.2023 bbe 31.07.2024) im 2023-10 getrunken. Dieses with a blow of Apple & Cake wie De Molen es beschreibt kam deutlich mit unausgewogen Aromen daher. Aber hier habe über die Jahre bei De Molen gelernt 2-3 Jahre diese Flaschen in den Keller zu packen und dann sie erst zu bewerten. Hier hat es gerade bei ungewöhnlichen Zutaten gewaltige Entwicklungsprünge von igitt bis Traumstoff gegeben.

Tap. Deep red color with white head. Aroma is apple and bubblegum jellybeans. Taste is haribo, sweet candy, vanilla, literally like those bonbons we had in Germany, Campino, weird one. Oily mouthfeel, soft carbonation.
