T: full malty base, chocolate, cocoa, coffee, bit woody, dried fruits, caramel, cherries, bit herbal, nice balanced harmonic bitterness, soft carbonation, light oily mouthfeel, bit boozy yet very nice, fully enjoyed.

Darker yellow-cream head over pitch-black beer. Liquorice, speculaas, very dark sweetened coffee, coffee-flavoured toffees. Sweet, speculaas, sweet spices, and again liquorice. Very full bodied, thick MF, good carbonation... but lacking cruelly refinement. Something like Dark Horse Reserva revisited would have been a lot more festive for the 22nd anniversary, if I may say so. Txs to Stef!

0.33 l bottle from 'Ace Drinks', 2022 vintage, bottled in April 2023. Black with a thin, frothy, almost stable, light brown head. Sweetish-malty, gently roasty and a little fruity aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, roasted hazelnut, some dark fruits and light vanilla. Fairly sweet, malty, gently roasty, a little fruity taste of dark chocolate, coffee, roasted hazelnut, some vanilla, a touch of dark fruits and traces of honey, followed by a medium long, quite roasty-bitter finish. Full body, smooth and slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Tasty Imperial Stout, although I would have expected something crazier from Struise for an anniversary ale. It's supposed to be barrel-aged, apparently in whisky barrels, but I hardly get any whisky flavours.

Deep brown/black colour, brown foam. Nicely balanced between roastiness, sweet dried fruit, syrupy, notes of port, a bit vinous. Good.

Light going to moderate bitterness. Over moderate sweet. Some dark dried fruit notes and dark chocolate. Full body, below average carbonation. Warming mouthfeel. Dry-ish bittery finish. Ok.
