From De Hopduvel's website (for both Blondine and Brunette):

Light orange color, frothy head, large chunks of yeast in my glass. Malty, hoppy, somewhat soapy aroma. Yeast and cream in the flavor, malt, anis and venkel. Some complexity. No alcohol tasted in spite of the 9% ABV

Notes from early 90s. Side by side with the Brunette. 25cl bottle. Golden blonde color. Aroma’s: malt, grain, somewhat sweet. Flavor: light sweet. Strong alcohol feel. Medium bodied. Long finish, moderate bitter flavor.

Blonde ale made for De Hopduvel in Ghent, with mousse-like, snow white, irregular foam and purely golden blonde, misty colour. Quite assertive aroma with banana, orange, melon, cloves, grassy hops, gin and unfortunately a bit of solvents too. Fruity taste, very lightly sweet but drying towards the end, gently spicy, lemon hint, finishing medium long with sufficient hop bitterness and some warming alcohol.

Strong Belgian blond beer in the tradition of the famous Duvel. Tastes almost the same, only a bit more spicey.

1998 bottle from Kulminator. Hazy amber beer with lumpy bits!! Tiny white head. Oxidised nose. Palate is still crisp though. Odd mixture of tart fruit and oxidised malt. Paper on the back end. Some beers age well - this ain’t one of them!

27/X/12 - 25cl bottle from De Hopduvel (Gent) @ home - BB: 21/II/14 (2012-1199)
Clear light orange to golden beer, big aery fizzy head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: very sugary and sweet, grains, bit grassy, spices, some ripe banana. MF: too much carbon, light to medium body. Taste: bit sweet in the start, citrus, fruity, sweet malts, some banana, hay, yeasty touch. Aftertaste: sweet, ripe banana, hop bitterness, some citrus and spices, grains, sweet malts. Alcohol is noticeable. Decent, but not overly interesting.

(Bottle, Monk’s Café Wallingatan, Stockholm, 3 May 2012) Golden colour with frothy, white head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of peaches, citrus, tropical fruit and floral hops. Malty, fruity taste with tropical fruit, citrus, candy sugar, dried pineapple, a touch of grass and a mild, spicy bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, with a certain sweetness coming through. Quite nice.
