Loads of malt and a little subtle fruit. More malt on the finish. None of the promised Port flavour!

Bottle, at Cardinal. A clear, copper body is topped by a small, beige head. The aroma is malt-driven, slightly bready with caramel and roasted malts. Some dried fruits too. Some alcohol is found in the flavor, which follows the same pattern as the aroma, malty that is. And in a quite nice way. Medium to full body. Malty finish with some roasted notes. A quite decent beer, but I would like some hops to be more evident in it, it gets a little bready and caramelly as it is. (081130)

Cask at Jan Primus. Clear brown color, short off-white head. Aroma of brown malt, bit fruity, some laurel, hint of licorice, though all quite soft. Slight bitter taste, malty. Decent winter seasonal.

Bottle. Brown with a ruby tinge. Aroma of marmite, spice and dark fruit. Flavour had some caramel, more fruit and a vinous mouth feel. Alcohol was fairly prominent. Ok.

500ml bottle @ Cardinal. Slightly hazy, brown body with a smal beige head. Aroma is fruity, spicy, malt, dry fruit and some alcohol. Flavor is malty, caramel, dry fruit, spices and some bitterness. Medium body. I like this as a calm beer for the cold season.
