NULL EILE. Denn was lange gärt, wird richtig gut.

50 cl bottle. Malt aroma . Orange/ amber color.Small head. Short lasting retention. Flavor also dominated by malt. For me that’s no Helles, more like a Maerzen.

Amber color, fruity aroma (mango). Sweetish, malty flavor. Fruity (tropical) and rather sticky. Not a very pleasant aftertaste, a bit skunky.

500ml bottle; BB Christmas Day 18. Drank at home on 28th Aug 18. Deep golden body, clear and clean looking, white crown on top that hung around for longer than most beers of this type. Light malty aroma and a mild malty sweetness taste wise, minimal hop bitterness. My sweet tooth quite liking the malty brew and it's simplicity. OK for a cheap supermarket beer.

Sampled from 0.5 l bottle from local 'toom', best before April 2018. Clear, dark amber with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, off-white head. Sweetish, slightly malty and a little grassy aroma of grains, straw and a touch of caramel. Moderately sweet, slightly bitter, a bit malty and slightly grassy taste of grains, some caramel and hints of straw, followed by a short, moderately bitter, slightly grassy and quite yeasty finish with a metallic touch. Thin to medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. One of the worst I've had from Oettinger so far, pretty yeasty as if something went wrong here, didn't like it at all!

Pours dark gold from the bottle. The creamy white head soon fades. Aroma is very much that of a Kellerbier or Märzen, with dank basement notes set atop caramel and alcohol undertones. Taste is malty sweet with caramel and honey notes. Finish is short and fades off into nothing. Body trends light. Not your usual Helles. It is not a bad beer, but a flawed one.
