Built in 1933 by the Civilian Conservation Corps, a voluntary work relief program, Eliot Tower is a 35-foot, stone observation deck, with incredible views of Blue Hills Reservation and the Boston skyline. Added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980, it's just one of the many sights to enjoy near the new Trillium Canton at 100 Royall Street.
The bigger sibling to Trailside IPA, Eliot Tower pours a soft, light orange with a glowing haze. Juicy, tropical fruit greets the nose up front, leading with aromas of sticky mango, pineapple sorbet, and lychee. Citrus and stone fruit play supporting roles, offering up notes of ripe peach, apricot candy, and grapefruit zest. Medium-bodied, with a palate-coating soft approach, Eliot Tower finishes dry, with a tame, gentle bitterness.
STYLE: Double IPA
ABV: 8.0%
HOPS: Citra, Strata, Centennial
MALT: American 2-Row Barley, White Wheat, C-15

Shared can at regional tasting. Opaque yellow colour, small white head. Lovely citric aroma, also notes of tropical fruits and spruce. Flavour with the same elements, and a distinct bitterness.

Draught at Fort Point, 8/6/21.
Moderately-to-heavily hazy, bronze-brass with a small, somewhat-well-retained, white head.
Nose is full of lemon, lime, pine and some other sweaty/funky hop notes with plentiful biscuit and very light honey for balance. A touch of hop twang or maybe it's just the higher than usual acidity for an NEIPA. No alcohol noted.
In the mouth it's soft and well-malted with honey and white bread notes smoothing things over nicely. Lightly juicy citrus meets more bitter/acidic pine with a sweaty/funky/musty character, as well. I love the texture and light juiciness, but the flavor has some weird, or maybe just overly acidic, notes to it. Not boozy, though, and with a good aroma.

Can. An unclear yellow-orange colored beer with close to no head. Some white bubbles. The aroma is quite fruity, with pine cones, resin and grapefruit. Some pale malts. It’s full-bodied, lightly warming and with a pleasant carbonation. Some hopburn. Grapefruit, pine cones, resin hints and a touch of tropical fruits and grass in the flavor. Lasting hoppy finish. Pleasant indeed, sure hop forward. 210813

Tasting at Chez Cloin. Thanks to Wingman for the can. Hazy gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light, fairly dry and has a good fine minerally crispness. Light malts, a thin creamy sweetness. Decent hops but nothing spectacular. Pink grapefruit and tangerine, mild pine and decent hop spice. More tangerine on the spicy finish. Could do with a better malt base but pretty drinkable nonetheless.
