Lots of biscuity malt character from the best quality Scottish malted barley. Crystal malt add toffee and caramel taste and black malt contributes a crisp astringent balance. Challenger and Goldings hops add a fresh herbal and resin hop note as well as a refreshing bitter linger to balance with the sweet malt character.

[as Belhaven Scottish Ale / Export (Bottle & Keg), ABV 5.2%] Bottiglia.

Clear reddish brown colour, dissipating cream white head. Malty aroma, caramel, light biscuit if you search for it, light nuts. Sweet malts. Sweet malty finish, caramel, light toasted nuts. Decent scottish ale.

Amber pour. Thick foam. Even lace. Nutty malt with sweet smoky malt combined makes this beer amazing. Easy carbonation.

275ml bottle, Best Before 1995 (!) @ the beer tasting at the end of the world, Chez Sophie, Marc '20. Thanks Jeremy for this. Perhaps a little unfair rating so I've given a kind mark. Rated for my records only. Oily leathery barley wine, not undrinkable, not too dusty. A taste of history.

Tap. Amber color, good creamy head. Fruity flavor, just a bit sweet. Apple and a bit salty. Otherwise rather bland and fizzy. Fairly thin.

Draught - Nitro @ Albion. Dark amber with large creamy off-white head, malt aroma, high carbonation, sweetish malt taste, a bit fruity, toffee, thin body, abrupt finish. Not an interesting brew.
