Rich, boozy, dessert cherry flow into tones of slick dark chocolate, spiced fruit cake and lavish toasted vanilla. Finishing with a sophisticated balance of lingering cacao and bitter molasses. Our most refined barrel aged imperial stout from Field Recordings.

440ml can bought at Vinmonopolet Oslo City, shared with Finn. Stable fawn-coloured head, black in the glass, crocheted lacing. Smoothly roasted dark malty aromas, mid-dry. Nicely flavoured with vanilla oak, chocolate, and caramel malts. Carefully roasted ending, long-lived, with a light bourbon note. Nice one. (Tromsø, 04.11.2023).

can. aroma has lots of tart wood and lots of roasted malts. is a bit like it has been on wood for a long time, yielding both good and bad notes from the wood. faint glue. dark plum. I like extreme barrelling so the overwoody feel to the aroma is fine by me.. flavor is very heavy on the roasted malts, finer notes from the various kinds of booze, and not so much notes from the vanilla, but it is very likely in there somewhere, adding complexity and rounding. Almost like the booze is driving the flavor with all the rest catching up. Still, it does taste darn good, and i like the complexity and various areas to explore in the flavor. Probably best for you if you like experimental and crazy. Tastes like the best experimental imp stouts from 15 years ago, brings back memories. good sipper.

Can. Opaque dark brown beer, small bubbly tan head. Smooth and semi dry palate, reasonable fine carbonation. Biscuity dark chocolate with a decent amount of milk chocolate thanks to the very well integrated vanilla. The barrelling is pretty light and smooth. Finishes smooth with a richer chocolate vibe coming through. Nice stout but could have been a tad more barrelly.

330ml can. Pours black with a beige head. Aroma of chocolate, vanilla, barrel, oak. Taste is light sweet, the various barrels -particularly bourbon - come through nicely, oaky, chocolate, dark fruits, caramel, not getting much of the vanilla like I did in the aroma. Very smooth, a little booze. Very nice.
