London’s Big Smoke are one of our favourites from… the big smoke! We share the same values, ethics and approach to quality and consistency. We’re big fans of their incredibly drinkable pale ales so in this collaboration we’ve picked their brains on how they do it and then some!
A light malt base bears crunchy biscuit flavours and rounded sweetness for us to lay a heap of hops. Splitting the double hop dosing between the whirlpool and dry hopping, Idaho 7 and Zappa combine to bring a zingy sherbet bitterness full of pithy citrus zest. Notes of lime, pink grapefruit and clementine are upfront; backed up with bouquets of floral notes and a lasting dry finish.

Keg @ Further North, Chapel Allerton, Leeds. Paler golden hazy citrus brew, with a mildly sticky-sweet but well stated piney tropical fruitiness. Slightly dry tasting and piney in aroma.

440ml can. Hazy pale yellow, white head. Aroma of grapefruit, orange, pine. Taste is very citrusy, orange, grapefruit, pine, pithy finish. Decent.
