Ryan up at Chain House Brewing in Preston is quickly becoming one of the best and most talked about haze brewers in the North West, quietly pumping out some incredible IPAs and NEIPAs. So it seemed only fitting for us to create a DIPA with them...

Gordie And Pretzel was brewed using the new experimental hop variety 'HBC 638' and a touch of Nelson Sauvin. This 8% DIPA is packed full of bright papaya, nectarine and light chardonnay grape notes, all delivered on a soft silky juicy base. The artwork for the beer is an illustration of Chain House's new kitten Pretzel and their other cat Gordie, who find themselves overcome by hops in a magical forest.

Tap@Bootleggers FDB, Frederiksberg - hazed up golden pour with a white head. Juicy fruity aroma and taste with notes of tropical and citrus fruit, getting some nelson infused gooseberry and white grape, sweet creamy malts, medium body, solid hoppy finish. Very nice.

Can. Hazy orange gold beer, small bubbly pale cream colour head. Palate is light and semi dry, decent fine minerally carbonation. Light malts, a light creamy sweetness. Hops bring a light crisp cooling pine. HBC638 complex fruits, floral citrus and candyish tropical fruits. Nelson Saving also ran, maybe. Light finish. A pretty dipa, quite drinkable, would have liked a bit more hop edge.

Can from Hogs Back Brewery shop. Aroma has soft stone/tropical fruit with underlying creaminess and spice. Hazy gold. Thick foamy white head. Medium bitter. Light resin and stone fruit. The stone fruit then peaks alongside sweet citrus. Creamy custard hints. Medium bodied. Creamy. Flat-average carbonation. Long dry finish. Enjoyable smooth DNEIPA.
