As a brewery, literally on the border of the Netherlands and Belgium, with an originally Dutch brewer at the stirring stick, there is no escaping it, to participate in the annual bock beer craze in the Netherlands. A wheat bock was chosen, with European and some American hops. That along with a handful of blackberries, makes for a fruity, slightly sweet bock.

A clear orange golden beer with a beige head. Aroma of intense caramelized strong malt, nuts, hints of smoke. Taste of moderate smoked dark caramelized malt, strong malt, nuts, long bitter finish.

Bottle from Little Beershop, Utrecht. Aroma is brown malts with caramel, some dried fruit, yeast, a touch of smoke and wood, earthy notes. Flavour is moderate sweet and light bitter. Body is medium. Plenty going on.

Clear reddish brown beer, creamy solid beige head, pretty stable, a bit adhesive. Aroma: nice, dried fruits, raisins, a bit oxidized, malty, some caramel, a bit earthy, slightly smoky. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: malty, a little sweet, caramel, smoky, pretty bitter, dried fruits, a bit hoppy, nice and complex. Aftertaste: smoky, dry touch, caramel, earthy, more smoky, nice!

25 cl Teku tulip draft at Billie's Bier Kafétaria in Antwerp, Belgium. The pour is a slight haze of amber, ruby with a super lasting light khaki head. The aroma is a soft caramel toffee malt, wheat, with a touch of soft herbal clove. The taste is smooth and silky, with the clean malt, wheat, nut, soft toffee, a bit of toastiness and closes with gentle Belgian yeast. All fresh and clean flavors, particularly as it warms. The palate is light to medium bodied with a soft mouthfeel and the refined gentle finish. This beer got more and more interesting as it warmed. Wheat throughout.

Bottle. Clear deep amber with beige head. Caramel, figs, cranberries, wheat, grassy hops, bready, peach, cardboard, bitter grape skins. Medium sweet, a bit more bitter and light sour. Medium bodied with slick feel. Very interesting and complex beer, lots going on here.
