Brewed with our friends De Garde from Tillamook, Oregon, this complex fruit sour was fermented with a mixed-culture wine yeast before secondary fermentation in foudre with De Garde’s house culture. It was then aged in French white wine barrels on fresh blueberries, providing layers of berry, vinous notes and farmhouse flavours.

18/I/21 - 37.5cl bottle @ ElManana’s First Fire Basket Tasting, BB: n/a (2021-60) Thanks to ElManana+1 for sharing the bottle!
Clear red brown beer, practically no head, non adhesive. Aroma: fruity start, rather dirty, earthy notes, some leather, bitter impression, wood tannins. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: very bitter start, tannins, a little fruity, very acidic, mouth puckering dry. Aftertaste: fruity, very dry, very acidic, more wood tannins, nice one though, tastes better than it smells...

Bottle at THT online. Clear deep reddish purple with not much head. Fucky, berry skins, leather, white wine, very present blueberries, dank cellat funk, soft herbal. Under medium sweet, sour and bitter. Medium bodied with soft sparkly carbonation. Quite different from the base beer, I like it more with the fruit and tannins here.

Bottle. Very subtle blueberry presence, . Otherwise a really good classic lambic character. Assertive sourness, also incorporating a bit of tartness, moderate funk. Quite good, easy drinking, could use more cowb... blueberry.

Bottle, 375 ml courtesy of Zec brothers, shared with them Max and Miro B. Deep red with small white head. Berries, funk, juicy, vinous, low carbonation. Bit thin, especially in finish.

Bottle. Beer Central, Sheffield. Deep, rose pink. Light haze. Halo of pink foam. Nose has blueberry yoghurt. Touch of lactic funk. Hint of tart wine barrel. Taste is light tart, and fairly dry. Light body, verging on watery. Some acidity. Pretty drying. Low carbonation. Light fruit tartness to finish. Too many CW barrel aged beers turn out thin and watery. Typically disappointing.

Tap at Muted Horn. Hazy red, low head, dry barn base, mellow leathery mouthfeel. Berry, barn, light tartness, berry and leather finish.
