Snowblind reclaims the traditional implication of Stout meaning strong or robust, rather than dark. With lactose and flaked oats alongside roasted coffee, cocoa nibs and fresh vanilla pods you get a body and flavour that provide the full Stout experience. It’s the Tonka beans that make this moreish, adding more vanilla, liquorice, caramel and almond.

Draft. A murky dark amber beer with a lazing brown head. The aroma has notes of coffee, vanilla, and chocolate. The flavor is sweet with notes of vanilla, coffee, coconuts, and malt, leading to a dry finish. Odd.

Can at home in Hackney - picked up at Mother Kelly's, Well Street. Pours totally clear gold with a small, foamy white head. Really fun stuff, nice vanilla and white chocolate, creamy coffee, pale bread, hints of orange. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Nicely rounded finish, a little bitter coffee, more white chocolate, vanilla. I like it.

Can. Almost clear gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is smooth, mildly dry and has decent fine nibbly carbonation. Smooth pale malts. Mellow vanilla. Tonka bean tangy mild chocolate. A whisper of coffee carries over from the nose. Coconut. Light finish, vanilla coconut linger. Good fun but tastes nothing like a dark malt stout.

Gouden/witte kraag, ruik niets dus dat skip ik, smaak is erg zacht, romig, zoet, iets van lactose, mout, matig zoet, licht bitter, vanille, lichte koffie, iets geroosterd, imo moet een stout zwart wezen niet gouden. Verder wat vlak/flets

Smell of cinnamon. Hazy amber colour, white head. Aroma of cinnamon, coffee, ash, mudcake, pepper. Weird flavours for a blonde beer. Sweet.

Keg at the Merchant, Canary Wharf, 17/01/19. Almost clear golden blonde with a decent off white cap. Nose is coffee grinds, white peppery spice, vanilla, white chocolate sprinkle, sugars. Taste comprises sweet malts, vanilla, cocoa sprinkle, milky bar, white peppery spice. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a bitter sweet climax. Solid for the sub genre.

Keg at the brewery tap, Bermondsey. Light to mid-gold, almost clear with a loose ring of white head. Burnt caramel, fresh butter, and mild chocolate notes on the nose. Tastes sweet at first, but the sweetness fades to reveal a medicinal hoppy character. Some lemony notes on the long finish. White stouts always feel a bit artificial to me, and while this is no exception, it's still fun to drink (although I wouldn't have it again).
