We brewed this 5,5% Extra Special Beer with our friends from Marble Brewery. Knikker is from an original recipe from Marble with a Kaapse twist. This beer drinks like a classic British bitter, but a bit stronger. Whats in the whirlpool, you ask? Tons of hops, including new UK-grown hops like Godiva and Jester, and also classic Pilgrim hops.
Knikker is the Dutch word for a (glass) marble.

Decent example of the style. Comes across a but stale-like oxidized in the sharp bitterness for me. Doesn’t have the less pokey feel of the classicis. Arendsnest ams

Roodbruin bier met weinig schuim. Smaak is overwegend bitter met iets van citrus, wat karamel, sinaasappel en een heel klein beetje rook. heel goed met een droge afdronk.

(Draught at Craft & Draft, Amsterdam, 17 Feb 2023) Amber colour with frothy, tan head. Malty, fruity nose with apricots, toffee, orange peel and dried fruit. Malty, fruity taste with notes of caramel, toffee, orange peel and a balanced earthy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Tasty, balanced and well made bitter. Very nice.

Can. Color: Amber, thin off-white head. Aroma: Caramel malt, lightly citrus hop. Taste: Caramel malt combined with floral and bit citrusy hop. Dry-ish. Light to moderate sweet and moderate bitter, going to very dry medium bitterness at the finish. Medium body, below average carbonation. Nice British style collab.

Clear dark amber beer, small creamy off-white head, stable, a bit adhesive. Aroma: very malty, grains, rural, barnyard. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: good bitterness up front, some caramel, malty, grains. Aftertaste: bitter, dry, hoppy, nice, little fruity.
