This Chocolate Orange Stout pours blackish brown. Aromas of zesty blood orange, cocoa nibs and chocolate. Followed by a colourful kaleidoscope of bitterness and sweetness. Rounded, full bodied and delicious.

Draught@Brewdog Tampere. Deep brown colour with a mediumsized beigeish brown head. Aroma is chocolate, some roasted tones with mild cocoa, zesty and mild toffee tones. Flavour is chocolate, zest, oranges, mild wood with some slight alcohol tones and a bit fudge as well. Intense, but not overly boozy.

330 ml. can sampled @ Bar Pardaf. Black, mocha head. Nose is super orange zest, OJ fruit, same bit fake orange as Elvis Juice, thin, grainy. Taste is thin grainy, weak base with that fake grapefruit, low lactose, rather thin. Okay but bit weak.

Hazy dark brown-black with a lasting, small, frothy, beige head. Aroma of Jaffa cakes, vanilla, milk chocolate, candied orange, creamy & sugared coffee. Taste is medium to heavy malty sweet, thick Jaffa cake topped with chocolate, candied orange & apricot, bitter orange peel & some spices underneath, faint hint of liquorice. Dryish, malty, herbal hoppy finish, lingeirng chocolate, biscuit & subtly warming triple sec-like alcohol. Full body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Liquid Jaffa cake all in all, really superb to me!

Huge, layered cream head over virtually black beer. Orangezest³, jumping out of the glass, orange chocolate, Pimm's cake, bit soupy. Dry-ish, roasted & chocolate malts, and of course lots of orangepeel. Generally pretty sweet, malts but also orangejuice (real?). Bit of oxydated hops warming up. Quite slick, medium to well-boded, light alcoholwarming, medium to good carbonation. I've always had trouble with the combination chocolate and orange. This wasn't to be the exception.

20/IX/19 - 33cl can from Geers (Oostakker), shared @ home, BB: 6/V/21 - (2019-1449)
Clear dark brown beer, big creamy beige head, stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: that's chocolate all right! Lovely smell! Some candied orange peel in the mix as well, just as promised, fruity, nice roast, dusty malts. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: lots and lots of dark chocolate, not sweet, pretty dry, orange peel is noticeable, pretty bitter, more roasted flavours as well, caramel, slightly sourish. Aftertaste: more roast, bitter orange peel, dark chocolate, malty, oranges, slightly metallic.

Can picked up from Dranken Geers, Oostakker, nr Ghent, Belgium and consumed at home Attenkirchen, Sunday 4th August 2019 after a great weekend of cycling along the Danube and today to Freising Hofbräuhaus Keller. Chocolate and orange (Terrys chocolate orange springs to mind) thick in the mouth, roasty, sweet, really indulgent. I had this a little cold and enjoyed it like that, it's got a little kick but not too much
