For this Druif, we macerated Pinot Gris grapes from Harth+Harth for five months on a foeder and let a part of the fruit lambik mature further on a smaller oak barrel. We used two-and three-year old lambikken only, rendering the weighted average age of the blend to more than 39 months on the moment of bottling. More than 60% the cereals were sourced in a 15 km radius around the brewery. A few years ago, we started working with the most progressive low-intervention winemakers around Europe. Harth+Harth is a family-owned Demeter-certified organic winery from Saulheim in the German wine region of Rheinhessen.

Vinous nose, getting overripe pear and stone fruit like pinot Gris notes. Elegant funk

Bottle shared. Slight hazy dark golden. Massive funk, sweet malts, spicy grapes, a hint of flintstones, dry oak, vanilla, peach. Medium sweet and sour, light bitter. Full bodied. Really good.

Taster at Billie’s, on Friday. Red grapes, oak, loads of tannins, intenense and puckering, funk, light citric notes. A bit too heavy on the tannins.

750mL bottle. Pours cloudy deep gold with minimal white head. Aroma has horse blanket, manure, grape skin must. Flavour has lots of funk, grape must. A bit bumbled, but still really enjoyable.

750mL bottle, pours a cloudy dark orange with a small white head. Aroma has tons of petroleum upfront, followed by plenty of white wine grapes, and light funk. Flavour has plenty of petroleum, some white wine grapes, light funk, and a touch of alcohol. A bit clumsy for 3F, but I like the grape character.

Hazy and pale amber. No head. The aroma is really quite leathery, and there's a decent pinot gris vinous accent. This is very dry, earthy, some grapefruit notes (that comes from the grapes), maybe some stone fruit. There's a light bitterness, some tartness, the grape brings some sweetness and the finish shows a bit of tannin. This is very complex, even by 3F standards.

Flaska från 3Fs webshop. Gyllengul klar vätska utan skum. Druvig och funkig. Stor kropp, druviga tanniner, strå, vinteräpplen, stark cider. Mer kraftfull än komplex men mycket gott

Bottle from 3 Fonteinen webshop. Color: Slightly hazy orange, fast disappearing off-white head. Aroma: Funky, grape, tart. Taste: Rural and horse blanket funk, grape, grapeskin, oak wood. A lot of tannins. Astringent mouthfeel. Dry fruity finish. Over moderate tart. Medium body, low carbonation. A bit too low carbonation for me. Nice grape Geuze.

Some shards of lace over reddish ochre-golden beer. Grapey, toast, even some caramel. Old wood, lambic casks. Sourish grapes, again hint of caramel, old wood, horseblanket. Dry-out effect, lipsmacking acidity, tart. Light body, feeling better carbonated than it looks. Nice, but not the best Druif by far.
