Can from Lidl. Near black with small beige head. Nice aroma with the dark malt, chocolate and maple coming through well. Very tasty; dark malt, hint of liquorice, chocolate and some maple in the finish with a bitter roast. Not sickly sweet like some in this style. Slick body and low carbonation which is ok although slightly fuller and a more notable but soft carbonation would be better. I'm being a bit picky for a low cost craft beer. This is very good stuff.

440ml can. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a thin broken off-white head. The aroma is roasted malt, light maple syrup. The flavour is moderate sweet and liqourice bitter, with a smooth, somewhat light, roasty, dry ashtray, liqourice bitter, light maple syrup, warm boozy light alcohol bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

440ml can from a local Lidl: BB 16th September 2023. Drank at Auntie Sue's house on 20th October 2022. Black with a thin tan head. Chocolate front with a maple syrup back and a malty middle, some caramel in the mix also. Sweet, yet with a hint of calming bitterness.

Can picked up from Lidl Norbury and drunk at home in London (09/08/2022) - black with a tan head. Dark sweet and roasted malty, big maple and caramel sweetness, cocoa and light ashy roast, medium plus body, sweet maple infused lingering malty finish. Good stuff.

Can from Lidl Supermarket, Littleborough. Near black, although hazy brown on its last pour into the glass, also with a small head. A gritty enough little number in the palate, it's actually fairly easy textured for its strength, although its strength is also notable within the ale. There's a light mix of maple and chocolate behind this in both aroma and taste.

[44cl can from Lidl, Crowthorne.] A glossy peaty brown pour with a tight beige head; chocolatey aroma with a hint of syrup; smooth in the mouth with a dry chocolate malt taste; then a dry finish with well roasted malts and well hidden alcohol.

440ml can from Lidl. Near black in colour, with a tight, beige, head. Plenty of caramel notes and milk chocolate, with some balancing toastiness before a rich finish. Enjoyable.
