[September 2023] Deep, dark brown, near black, with a creamy tan head and mild coffee on the nose. Semi-creamy with sweet milk chocolate and cafe latte fighting it out

Cask at The Colmore, Birmingham. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a reddish hue and a big lasting frothy off-white head. The aroma is light roasty malt, red berry fruits. The flavour is light sweet, with a light, smooth, watery, blackberry, redcurrant, light sweet chocolate palate. Light bodied with soft carbonation. Nothing like Tiramisu. I’ve been conned!

Cask at Hops, Crewe (20/9/23). Pours almost black with a small tan head. Plenty of aroma here – lactose, fudge, chocolate and coffee. In the mouth it has a creamy texture with coffee, chocolate and roast malts to the fore, plus traces of cola and vanilla. Finish is slightly dry with a hefty dose of chocolate. This is rather nice !

Shared third of a pint at the 31st Shrewsbury Beer Festival in St Mary's Church on 28th September 2023. Almost black bodied, milky coffee coloured head. Coffee aroma and a semi-sweet coffee flavour, interesting and different. Other stuff going on too!

Handpull cask at the Newsroom, Matlock. Very dark brown and opaque with a thin beigr/khaki head. Getting a big papery coffee aroma, some vanilla, not much else but very nice for what it is. Sweet, creamy taste, creamy coffee with a gentle bitterness on the finish. Some grape and stone fruit in the aftertaste. Oily body, soft carbonation. I like this.

Cask at GBBF'23, day two, 02/08/23. Black with a tan head that retains well. Nose is coffee bean, dark malts, toffee, dried fruit rinds. Taste comprises tiramisu coffee mix, dark malts, dried fruit rinds, dark malts, spice balance, cocoa powder, charr, coffee cake. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close. Solid well balanced cask porter.

Cask at GBBF 2023. Black beer lasting tan head. Coffee chocolate aroma. Lots of coffee. Some cream. Not a bad stab at such a low abv. Just on the right side of being too creamy. Decent. Good coffee. Smooth. Good condition
