Brewed with Tomahawk and Simcoe hops. Viven Imperial IPA came from the westcoast of America but is brewed in Flemish style and gives a great result. It will make the beer lovers heart beat a bit faster. An adventure for your senses. Amber coloured with a thin off-white head, Viven Imperial IPA is a good hoppy beer with citrus accents. Fruity nose (peach and pink grapefruit) with floral flavours, recalls a forest (spruce) in the early morning. The hops are prominent. Viven Imperial IPA is pleasently bitter.

Bottle from saveur-biere.com. Dark amber, hazy body, with massive, stable, frothy, white head, that leaves a lot of lacing. Great aroma of citrus, tropical fruits, pine, yeast and caramel. Taste of grapefruit, Belgian yeast, tropical fruits, caramel, sweet malt, some spices. Medium to full mouthfeel, with a oily texture and a smooth bitter/sweet citric finish. Very tasty, greatly balanced, one of the best Belgian (D)IPAs I’ve had so far!

(Draught at Delirium Café, Brussels, 25 Oct 2013) Dark amber colour, hazy, with foamy beige head. Malty, toasty nose with notes of rye bread, orange peel, toast and burnt rubber. Malty, hoppy taste with toast, burnt rubber, rye bread and a generous piney bitterness in the finish. Medium body, fairly dry. Tasty, but a bit unbalanced. Might have been the last of the keg, so I’ll try it again if possible. Still, quite nice.

Bottled, BB 05/12/14, large sample. Clear amber color, medium frothy off-white head. Aroma of biscuity malts, grapefruit, citrus, hint of pine, some spicy belgian yeast. Reminds me of troubadour magma. Medium citrussy bitterness backed up with some biscuity malt. Finishes quite dry, which makes the bitterness come through more. Slight thinnish though. As said, this reminds me of troubadour magma, which I think is a great fusion between belgian and american beers. Lovely stuff.

Bottle from ABS. Lookiing forward to this, after trying their great porter. Dark brown-orange with a huge, fine head. Lovely citrus nose, lemon, grapefruit, warm malts, just a touch of caramel and chocolate, grass. No trace of Belgian yeastiness. Sweet, fruity, malty, balanced. Caramel, chocolate, citrus, grass, restrained sweetness moves to good bitterness. Well, maybe the sweetness could have been a bit more restrained. Long-lasting bitter hop finish. Good body. I would have guess that this came from CA.

11.2oz bottle at Brasserie V. Thick orange-red body, thin steady beige head. Fluffy, cloudy, effervescent body, very light and easy on the palate. Pronounced hop bitterness, some nice melon tones as well as a classic dry "Belgian" feel. Big and full bodied, a pretty respectable beer. Well balanced. Not mindblowing, but a a cool new addition to Belgiums portfolio.
