Clear gold, rather thin top with small island shaped more like the highlands of Scotland than Germany. Aroma of lager malts, quite sweet almost vanilla like, little in the way of hops. Taste is more of a decent Pilsner though. Nice crisp bitter bite to it. Light bodied but not thin, not overly carbonated. Quite decent.

440ml can: BB 26th October 2023. Drank at Auntie Sue's on 20th April 2023. Clean and clear golden body, fast fading white crown. Typical Kolsch with very little aroma or taste, some malty sweetness tempered with a slight hop bitterness if you dig deep enough and try to pick out flavours.

440ml can from Aldi - Big clear golden yellow beer, quite sweet. A good cheap takeaway accompaniment. No complaints here.

Can from Aldi. Pours clear gold with a white cap. Aroma: lager malts, sweet-ish. Taste: sweet grains, crisp-ish, tangy bitterness. Light body with foamy carbonation. Not terrible, just a bit mundane.

[44cl can from Aldi, Bracknell.] A straw coloured pour with a tight white head, and fine carbonation; grainy aroma; grain body with a touch of citrus; and a sharp herbal bitterness to finish.

Can from Aldi Supermarket, Manchester. Golden with next to no head. I've never been a fan of kolsch, but this one tastes like a simple example. I however didn't bother to use the correct glass for this style, which the good people of Cologne sup from in one of their city centre squares south of the Dom. I doubt sticking it in a pint glass didn't affect the taste too much though.
