Imperal Stout - Coffee beans, Vanilla, Cacao beans and Cinnamon
Aged for 24 months on Weller Bourbon Barrels
ANTWERP, what we call the capital of Flanders! Is a massive Russian Imperial Stout, made with tons of speciality malts from Mouterij Dingemans. We dry spiced this beer with fresh roasted coffeebeans from Crossroast, a small coffee roastery from Antwerp. After that we dry spiced it again with Cacaobeans, Vanillabeans and some fresh Cinnamon. The result is a very complex, roasty imperial stout with lots of tones of chocolate, coffee, toffee, caramel, vanilla and a little spicyness from the cinnamon. We aged this beer for 24 months on Weller Bourbon barrels. Enjoy! Label by Robin Adriaenssens from Summer's End Tattoo

Black with a thin dark head. Big malty notes, booze, black pepper, baking spice, chocolate, faint raisin, earth. Full bodied. Finish is warm with spice. I wish the booze was rounded off just a touch but it’s not a deal breaker by any stretch. A big, bold beauty especially in the winter months.

Bottle. Color: Black thin brown head. Aroma: Spicy cinnamon, nutmeg, earthy, roasted malt, sweetish, boozy hints. Taste: Complex and well balanced mix of roasted malt, sweetish Bourbon and vanilla, caramel, light fruity hints of caramelized apple, booze, spicy nutmeg, cinnamon and chili pepper. Some nuts and almond, mostly at the finish. Full body, below average carbonation. Medium to over medium sweet, nicely paired with moderate to over moderate bitterness. Very nice!

Small cream-tan rim over almost black brown beer. Bourbon nose, dark chocolate, whisky, barrels; delicate, yet powerful. Chili, capsicum, chocolated, whisky/Bourbon. Always quite refined, almost delicate, despite the flavour explosion and body. Creamy MF, and with good carbonation, and this chili-like feel (not really 'hot'), resulting in a very good balance. This is really a top one. Wondering about the "Weller" - might be something to search for.
