Brewed with our friend, Ryan Witter-Merithew of Casita Cerveceria, Summer Sapling is a simple yet elegant hoppy Belgian-style blonde. We first met Ryan when he was working at Hill Farmstead a few years back, and his trip through Big Sur’s redwood forests last summer provided the inspiration for this beer. Brewed in July, bottled in August, and ready to drink now or in any season that suits your fancy.

Golden, slight haze, vibrant appearance, medium head. Somewhat sticky, a bit floral, this wants some bugs to dry it out…there’s a touch of hop but yeah a bit sweet.

Bottle shared with Johnny for the birth of his son, cheers buddy! Clear pale yellow color, small to average sized white head. Aroma and flavor are wheat, softly sourish grainy, lightly tart, but very balanced. Almost sparkling, with a touch of slightly unripe kiwi and light grape peel. Very good.

Santa Adairius Summer Sapling 5.7% Hazy gold with a big super foamy head and a lovely spicy herbal aroma and nice tart tannic funk. Medium to light bodied with a dry finish. The taste is tart tannic and lemony. I’d say a it’s a classic American Sour Blonde Ale. This beer really grew in me.

Effervescent, hoppy, and sweet belgian blonde ale, I think I might have missed summer but oh well. Was perfect for the coldish weather and BBQ. Thanks Jose G. !

Sampled at Snallygaster 2019. Poured a slightly hazy yellowish orange color with a foamy white head. Aroma was nice light tartness. Some sour, slight funky notes. Nice, crispness to this one as well. Pleasant funky beer.

Easy drinking and great balance. Reminds me of a Dupont beer. Pours hazy golden with good head and lacing. Light hay, lemon balm. Tap at Toronado.

Poured from a 750 ml bottle. Aroma is hop forward. Lots of grass, straw and herbal notes. Light grain notes with hints of stone fruit. Pours a hazy, pale, yellow straw with a medium large, thick, pillowy white head that recedes to the edges where it lingers in clumps. Flavor is slightly sweet with moderate grain notes. Light stone fruit notes with some pear and apricot. Light phenolic notes with medium bitterness and a bit of a dry finish. Moderate herbal hop notes with light floral and grassy characteristics. Mouthfeel is light to medium light bodied with medium high to high carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a nice Belgian style blonde, but it's not really my style. Hop character is definitely not my favorite, but it works well with the dry finish and Belgian yeast.

Summer sapling was a beautiful clear golden orange with a medium creamy off-white head that dissipated slowly with nice lacing. The aroma was Brett forward lots of nice clean Brett notes a little bit of citrus, lemons and grapefruit a hint of grass but mostly Brett. The flavor had a slight tartness a fair amount of funk but it was all the clean Brett variety with a little citrus, a little grapefruit mostly Brett. Very clean enjoyable. This is a good one.
