Sitting in the cellar for the last year. Brown with a creamy, dark beige head. Rum barrel aroma. The added maple syrup is noticeable too. A bit of caramel on top. Taste is mildly sweet. Finishes the same, with a touch of maple syrup lingering on the tongue. Boozy at the finish, with the rough edges of the rum showing through. Nice body, chewy, smooth, rich. The additives are definitely there, not much to see of the beer though.

Süßlicher Geruch von Vanille, Pflaumen. Im Antrunk weniger süß als erwartet, etwas trocken, malzig, cremig. Vergoren Fruchtnoten, feinherb, alkoholische, nicht störende Tendenzen. Stark holzig, etwas schokoladig, weiche Karbonisierung. Vollmundig, harmonisch. 10/11/12/12/11/12

Craft Beer Junction bottle share. Thanks to Tips. A light haze on this dirty amber beer, small pale tan head. A light creamy malt base, a little creamy malt but also tangy. Soapy back end. Ripe fruits and a little funk. Light dry finish. Hard to drink and pretty awful. One of the worst barleywines I can recall, what the fuck happened here?

I haven't tasted mezcal since my 23rd birthday. Brings back a lot of memories. I also taste a lot of rum barrel, balanced out by maple bourbon. Quite good but thin, too thin for these barrels.

Can, enormous thanks to Grägår for sharing it! Brownish dark body. Old stale barrel in the aroma. Lean, soft taste, dried fig, soft maltiness, light apple touches - well integrated, somewhat warming alcohol, well balanced. Good stuff, not great stuff!
