Can @ Telfords. Pitch black body under a small tan head. Aroma has gentle roasted dark malt, lots of salt licorice and hint of vanilla. Taste is sweet, dark malt, hint of dark chocolate, some vanilla and tons of salty licorices. Alcohol is dangerous well hidden. Fine body with same licorice dominated aftertaste. OK in very small amounts, I love salty licorice but this was almost an overdose. Otherwise pretty one dimensional.

200ml draught at Brygg Drammen. Black in the glass, lacing rings down the glass, film-type layer. Inviting aromas of roasted dark malts, semi-sweet. Malt-forward taste with early onset of liquorice followed by input of black chocolate and soft bread. Roasted bitterness to the ending, slightly boozy. Well bodied. Likeable. (Drammen, 27.10.2023).

On tap at Brygg Drammen. A black one, with a dense finger thick light tan head. Nice curtains. The aroma has lots of licorice, with roasted malts, burnt malts and some dried fruit. Brown sugar. It's full bodied and warming, sticky and sweet, with a gentle carbonation. Some bitterness. Roasted malts, coffee, brown sugar, dark dried fruits, some burnt malts and vanilla and a good dash of salty licorice in the flavor. Long finish. Nice indeed, but a bit sweet I think. 230826

(Draught at Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 19 Feb 2023) Black colour with dense, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of liquorice, anise, espresso and vanilla. Malty, roasted, sweet taste with liquorice, anise, fennel, black coffee, dark chocolate, vanilla and a mild roasty bitterness in the finish. Rich and tasty, with lots of liquorice. Very nice.

Svart med brunt skum. Lukter lakris, mørke bær. Fyldig og godt med kullsyre. Smaker lakris, sjokolade og litt bær, kirsebær i avslutningen. God.

On tap. Pours black with short tan head. Aromas of licorice, dark chocolate, vanilla, and slick roasted malts. Flavors follow same with additional soy sauce and sweet dark chocolate. A very nicely balance licorice beer.
