Shared at Palace Hall, Malmö March 2024 tasting (23/03/2024) - big juicy fruity aroma and taste, lots of pineapple and grapefruit, mango and melon, sweet malty backbone, punchy hoppy finish. Can. An unclear orange colored beer with a big, dense, off-white head. Nice lacing. Orange, grapefruit, pine cones and resin in the aroma, with some notes of pale malts and alcohol. It's full-bodied, lightly warming and softly carbonated, with a gentle bitterness. Grapefruit, pine cones, some orange and resin and a touch of pale malts in the flavor. Long finish with a very gentle hop burn. A pleasant one indeed, although I'd like a bit more bitterness and carbonation. 240319

Pours fully foggy with white head that never totally disappears, but leaves some laces. Initially it is dominated by hops in aroma and flavor, which is to be expected. The body is surprisingly think and also a bit sweet, which is probably due to the use of lactose in this beer, in addition to wheat and oats. Low bitterness as expected. While lactose in NEIPA is not uncommon, it gives the fullness that is welcome, but it can also overpower the hops, in particular after the beer have stood for a few minutes, and I think this is happening in this beer. After some time, the thickness and sweetness are still there, and perhaps even more with increasing temperature, while the hop aroma is toned down. I understand why it is a useful technique, but I'm not sure if it delivers an improvement on the quality.
