Birell semi-dark combines the hoppy bitterness of light beers and the gentle sweetness of dark beers. You will taste the caramel tones of roasted malt, while its shiny amber color is darker. Like the classic pale variant, it is produced in the Nošovice brewery with a unique technology using special yeasts that produce a minimum of alcohol. It does not contain preservatives, artificial colors or artificial sweeteners.

Flaske fra et supermarked i Prag. Rav farvet med et fint skum. Sød og malt. Meget kedelig.

Bottle from a supermarket in Krumlov. Looks simple but good. Beer in the glass with a small head. Moldy malty aroma. Starts mild, malty, some bready notes. But not as intense as exspected. Shy caramel hints. Finish well balanced, a bit moldy-malty. Okay.

Bottle. Pours clear amber with airy off-white head. Clear aroma of yeast and malt. Bitter, hoppy flavour with sweetish notes of malt and yeast and touches of wood. Bitter, woody aftertaste with estery notes. Drinkable but rather uninspiring.

Bottle, 0.5%. Very bready aroma. Clear chestnut colour. Small stable white head. The flavour is quite bitter with the usual NA bread note. A little caramel in the finish.

# 484; 10/2016. Docela dobré nealko, ale ve srovnání s normálními pivy stále hodně podprůměrné. Nižší plnost, obilnost, kořenitost, jemně karamel, mlátovost.

30th Sep 2019, Shrewsbury Beer Exchange in Chez Sophie. Cheers Mat for the 500ml bottle, it was weak and watery! Clear amber body, white-ish head. Malty aroma and taste, but lacks depth and character.

500ml bottle @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, Sep 19, brought by me. Pours clear deep amber, frothy off-white head. Bit disappointing really, not a lot to it, barely tastes like beer at all. There are good non-alcoholic beers about, but this comes across as watery malty rubbish.

0,5l can from Sintra potraviny in Starý Smokovec. Big, tan, good retention head. Amber clear colour. Aroma is watery malty, bit nutty, caramel. Taste is light malty base, watery caramel, bit nutty, medium carbonation, bit harsh bitterness, useless beer.

Bottle, 30% off, at Albert Filadelfie. Luuurv these easy cheap ticks my dange self. Er, right. Anyway, lovely clear dark amber body, with a slightly off white head, that collapses soon but stays there for awhile. Eh. The aroma is vaguely more honeyish than the usual soggy cornflakes (which aren't gone entirely), might even venture a vague vague touch of dark bread. The taste is surprisingly not bad - vague dark bread edged by *gasp* vague roast mixes with sweetish worty notes, along with some herbal-citric notes. This is actually decent. Light bitterish herbal hoppy finish. Have to give credit where credit's due, but this is way above average for a n/a. Its industrial carbonation bite and obvious lack of fermentation show its origins, but frankly, if I *had* to for some reason, though I still don't see what reason that would be, I would drink this again. And, for its ilk, that's the highest of praises.
