Pours a pretty murky and quite unattractive dark copper to light brown. Average sized, off-white/brownish head shows good enough retention and lacing. Pretty good intensity in the aroma with a far from restrained caramelly malts base, fruity notes of grapefruit plus other citric fruits that have more of a jam-like character to them (orange most noticeable), a pretty vivid piney/resinous and slight spicy/peppery background. Pretty intense aroma as mentioned, feels nicely fresh but not 100% well integrated. Taste notes follow the aroma closely. The beer feels nicely vivid and fresh but there are some significant flaws to me: there's both strong sweetness and bitterness but they are not well integrated, alcohol burn is quite perceptible and actually a bit too much for 8.2%, plus the beer feels generally a little unpolished/scarcely defined despite good taste intensity. Medium to dense body with average, quite dense-feeling carbonation; feels overall a bit heavier than most imperial ipas. Overall: basically an imperial red ipa, and a not too polished or well crafted one.

Can at home, courtesy of Marko, thanks a lot! Pours almost clear copperish with a thin, off-white head. Sweet caramalts and booze combine with resin and light fruity notes, backed up with a firm bitterness. Decent enough old-school IPA

330 ml gusher can, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 8.2%. Hazy brown colour, small off-white head. Aroma of malts, caramel, brown bread and piney hops. Flavour with the same elements, fairly bitter finish.

Can 33 cl. Pours a clear, reddish brown with a small, off-white head. Nutty, caramelly aroma with some tired hops. Rich, sweet, caramelly body with some faint, balancing bittering hops. The aroma side is almost totally lacking. Let's call it an Imperial Red IPA. 080424

33cl Blik, dank Marko! Iets mistig goudoranje kleur, witte kraag.

Appearance: Cloudy amber with a good ivory-coloured head. Aroma and taste: Massive pale malt, honey, pine needles, resin, candied grapefruit. Taste: As described above. Light sweet, medium plus bitterness. Lingering hoppy ending. Mouth feel: Full body, soft to average carbonation. Summary: Nostalgic one. A bit old.

Can. Unclear dark orange with a decent white head. Aroma of malts, resin, pine, grapefruits and oranges. Taste of malts, honey, orange marmalade, grapefruits, oranges and herbs. Moderate bitterness. Medium carbonation. Ok but for a (fresh) DIPA it’s too malty and certainly missing that hoppy punch.
