Cold IPA is a new beer style that is already very popular in the US, as a counterpart to the NEIPAs. Rice and yeast are the characteristic ingredients. The taste is dry, bitter and thirst-quenching with beautiful aromas of the hops. We dry hopped FROSTI with Loral & Simcoe.

FROSTI is the name of a dwarf from Norse mythology.

(Draught at Walhalla Brouwerij & Proeflokaal, Amsterdam, 17 Feb 2024) Pale golden colour with frothy, white head. Hoppy nose with grapefruit, resin, grass and herbal hops. Hoppy taste with notes of grapefruit, resin, grass, biscuits and a generous herbal bitterness. More than medium body, quite dry. Clean and crisp, with a generous hop presence. Very nice.

0.44 l can from 'Mr. Hop', canned in January 2024. Almost clear, golden yellow with a medium large, slightly fluffy, slowly diminishing, white head. Sweetish, rather fruity, gently grassy aroma of pineapple, lemon peel and gooseberry. Gently sweet, moderately bitter, very fruity and slightly grassy taste of grains, lemon peel, pineapple, gooseberry and a touch of grass, followed by a short, gently bitter, slightly dry finish. Medium body, gently effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Tasty beer, nicely crisp and aromatic, very refreshing.
